Poet in Residency | New Arts Justice 2024
Daughter | Poetry Performance
New Arts Justice Poet-in-Residence Jasmine Mans presents Daughter, a public poetry workshop, performance, and digital media series that explores themes of daughterhood, home, and reclamation.
Building on her recent poem Blues People, after Amiri Baraka, Mans will release new works biweekly that blend her poetics with visual textures that feature the city of Newark–Mans’s hometown, family, and Black girlhood/womanhood. The first to be featured here is titled Newark (2024). Follow @expressnewark and @poetjasminemans for the upcoming releases.
